Welcome back students! Tomorrow, January 6th, you will report to your Advisory period 1st and receive your 2nd semester schedule. After the Advisory period, you will go to your A1 class. Tomorrow is a 2:50 pm dismissal.

It is with a heavy heart that the Benton Consolidated High School family acknowledges the passing of one of our own, Blaine Baseden.
Blaine was a junior at BCHS and a valued member of our Ranger community. As we all process this tragedy over the remainder of the winter break, we want to remind our students and families that you are not alone.
When school resumes on Tuesday, January 7th, dedicated counseling services and support staff will be available in the Library and Student Services for any student or staff member needing a place to talk or process this loss.
If you or a friend need immediate support before we return to school, the 988 Crisis Lifeline is available 24/7 by calling or texting 988.
Our thoughts, prayers, and deepest condolences are with the Baseden family and all who knew and loved Blaine.

BCHS Holiday Dress Up Days

BCHS is accepting applications for a Girls Wrestling Assistant Coach for the 2025-2026 School Year. Application details are available on the district website. The application deadline is 12:00 p.m., Friday, December 5, 2025.

Happy November! Here is a list of dates in the month of November when there will be no school or an early dismissal:
Tuesday, November 11 - Veteran's Day/No School, Tuesday, November 25 - 1:50 dismissal, Wednesday - Friday, November 26 - 28 - Thanksgiving Break/No School

BCHS is accepting sealed bids for the scoreboards recently replaced in the Rich Herrin Gymnasium. For details on the bid process see the included information or email bjohnson@bentonhighschool.org. The bid deadline is Friday, November 14, 2025 @ 12:00 p.m.

Ranger Fans....all 10 bundles of hardwood from the east gym have been sold. Not to worry, we will have smaller, individual pieces of the floor available for purchase at a later date to be announced.

BCHS recently replaced the east gym floor that dates back to 1938. 10 bundles of hardwood flooring were saved and are available to the public. Each bundle consists of approx. 15 8' boards that are 2.25" wide. The coverage for each bundle is approx. 26 square feet or the equivalent of a table top 42" wide and 6' - 8' long. If you would like to purchase a bundle, please email your request to Lori Craven at lcraven@bchs103.org or call 618-439-6415 ext. 506 . The cost is $25 per bundle and there is a limit of 1 bundle per person. Bundles will be sold on a first come first serve basis until all bundles are sold.

BCHS would like to say a big "THANK YOU" to Mayor Lee Messersmith, Streets & Improvement Commissioner Coy Cockrum, and Public Works Administrator Craig Miles for paving McCann and College Streets on both sides of the high school. The roads look great and are much improved!

Just a reminder that our Parent-Teacher conferences are this Tuesday and Thursday, 10/21 & 23, from 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm. No appointment is necessary. Please enter through the Main Entrance.

BCHS is accepting applications for an Assistant Wrestling Coach for boys wrestling and a Head Girls Wrestling Coach for the 2025-2026 School Year. Application details are available on the district website. The application deadline is 12:00 p.m., Friday, October 3, 2025.

BCHS is in search of a long-term substitute science/math teacher to teach from early December 2025 through late May 2026. Applicants must have a valid Illinois professional educator license or valid Illinois substitute teacher license.
